FISH HABITAT RESTORATION WITH DEXPAN

PROJECT:  Rock excavation to improve fish access to historical spawning Habitat
MATERIAL:  Rock in a river bed

CHALLENGE
1.   Sensitive ecosystem
2.  Need to protect water quality and keep fish safe
3.  Work site is a river bed
4.  Heavy equipment too disruptive, risk of pollution
 

SOLUTION
1.  Dexpan non-explosive demolition grout
2.  Re-direct river flow to reduce water in work area
3.  Drill.  Mix.  Pour Dexpan.
4.  Extra precautionary measures included vacuuming dust during drilling, removing clumps of Dexpan as rock pried free and installation of a silt curtain at the bottom end of the channel.

*  Protective Plastic Sleeves were not used in this project.  The sleeves allow Dexpan to be used in underwater applications, sensitive environments or when there is extensive ground water.  Contact us for details.
